Externally the structures are reminiscent of nomadic, native American dwellings. However, they’re much larger than their traditional counterparts and provide a dominant focal point even when surrounded by other marquees.
The construction is based on an interlocking framework of stripped pine poles which have been roughly-hewn for a beautifully tactile finish. A heavy denier, natural tan canvas tightly stretches over the frame providing a completely waterproof interior. They’re cool in summer, warm in winter and can withstand even the heaviest rainstorms.
As soon as you step inside you’re transported to a delightful & intriguing space – playful yet sophisticated.
Spacious and flexible
Katah Tipis are extremely versatile and can be set up in a wide range of configurations. The entrances can vary in size and be repositioned as the surroundings dictate. They’re scalable and suitable for a multitude of events, adapting easily to any location. They provide the perfect venue for anywhere between 50 and 500 people.
Special interiors
We also provide the option for crisp white, fitted cotton linings, which are available for each of our marquee configurations. The linings, unique to Katah Events, add extra finesse to an already sophisticated interior. Our luxe furniture and decor options add the finishing touch.

Based on a classic Nordic design these structures have stood up to rigorous durability tests in the harsh winters of Sweden. They make an atmospheric alternative to indoor venues providing a range of flexible options. The tactile pine tipi frame and accompanying furniture encapsulate the winter spirit making tipis perfect for festive events.
Double Oak doors
Transform the tipis for winter and wow guests by adding our hand made Oak double doors. Constructed from solid wood panels the doors offer complete weather protection, keeping heat inside the tipi.
Heating
For events falling outside the June to September season we advise clients to consider heating. To ensure your guests are kept at the perfect temperature we provide external diesel powered heaters. Controlled by a thermostat these units pump hot air into the tipi through a ducting system. The heaters are highly effective, guaranteed to keep our tipis warm in the coldest conditions.
Fireplaces
Open fires provide a focal point and ambient heat in the centre of each tipi. They’re also perfect for toasting marshmallows at night! Set into a natural pine surrounding each Bamse max fireplace uses smokeless logs to provide a warming flame. Every unit is supplied with plenty of smokeless fuel, firelighters, matches and a CO2 extinguisher.
